Aphte, known as recurrent aphthous stomatitis, are one of the most common forms of ulcers that occur in the oral cavity. The size of the lesion ranges from 2 to 20 mm in diameter. They are usually painful, burning and extremely sensitive and can cose problems with normal feeding or speaking. Aphte tend to be repeated. 20% to 50% percent of the population suffers because of Aphtae. They are more frequent in women and teenagers, probably because of hormonal changes, and in winter and spring.

In the case of large and persistent canker sores, it is necessary to control symptoms by using appropriate methods and products. They may be used prescription drugs such as Kenalog, Orabase (main component: triamcinolone acetonide) or mouthwashes, laser light, and additives for coating the painful part of the mucous membrane with propolis or hyaluronic acid in the form of a gel.
